Position Overview

The Operations Financial Analyst provides data and financial analysis required to Operations to support operational decisions. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting activities for assigned operational groups, ensuring alignment with corporate financial policies and guidelines.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop, analyze, and manage operational and capital budgets, using data-driven insights to support decision-making.
  • Monitor financial performance and deliver regular variance analysis, providing actionable recommendations to improve results.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and business insights to support strategic planning and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, including work orders, job costing, and journal entries.
  • Support cross-functional teams by providing guidance on financial processes, reporting, and systems.
  • Conduct financial analysis and special projects, including regulatory and ad-hoc reporting, to support business initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, reporting, and systems, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain and analyze financial data and metrics, translating complex information into clear, meaningful insights.
  • Provide general operational support as needed, including collaboration across purchasing, fleet, and facilities functions.

Requirements

  • Education: completion of Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution. 
  • Experience: three (3) years directly related relevant experience.
  • Strong organizational, oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in teams.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, cost benefit analysis and related analytical techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems operations, environment and peripherals and various applications software in use in the department (SAP, SharePoint, BW Reports, BI and suite of MS Office products).
