You’re applying. What now?
Let’s get started
We’re always looking for new, diverse talent. Ready to join our team? Then let’s get started.
How to apply
All job applications are done online. If you’re a first-time candidate, you’ll be prompted to create a career profile and upload your resume. Registered candidates can log in to update an existing profile and apply. And if you’re a current FortisBC employee, please apply internally. (Please note: due to a software update, you will need to create a new account if you have not logged in or applied for a job prior to mid-May 2020.)
During this part, you’ll be prompted with some questions that’ll help us identify you as a potential candidate. Including a cover letter is optional, but it does help us to get to know you better. You can also add any other education documents, certificates, or licences relevant to the job you’re applying for.
Our recruitment processes and timelines
Depending on the job, we generally follow up with short-listed candidates within two to three weeks. If you’ve been shortlisted, we’ll typically complete multiple interviews, assessments, and pre-employment checks. From start to finish this can take six to eight weeks before we make our selection and offer you the job.
As we get a lot of job applications, we’ll only contact you if you’ve been shortlisted.
FortisBC does not seek out resumes through third party sources and all emails from the FortisBC’s recruitment team will be sent through recruiting@fortisbc.com or the email will come from a FortisBC employee’s email account.
Interviewing with us
Ready to meet with us? Our interviews are two-way exchanges of information. We’ll learn if you’re a good fit for the job, and you’ll likely have questions for us about how the job is a good fit for you and your career goals.
When the time comes you’ll be:
- interviewed by at least two of our team members
- asked about your relevant skills and competencies
- asked behavioural and situational interview questions
Please note that some jobs may also require a technical assessment, presentation, previous work samples, your driving record and possibly a physical or drug test.
