Position Overview

In this role, you’ll provide leadership to the Distribution Design group and maintain contractors for the entire service area. You will manage and maintain the Distribution Design customer extension resources to ensure continuity and efficiency for the Company. This includes supporting customer escalations, as well as managing customer extensions and new connects to ensure consistent application, maintenance, and development of related processes.

In year 1, you will:

  • Familiarize yourself with the software and applications used to schedule and complete deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.    
  • Develop relationships with external stakeholders. 
  • Champion our safety culture to safeguard against accidents and injuries.
  • Utilize knowledge and experience to provide project reviews.

In year 2, you will:

  • Expand your knowledge of resource and administrative budgets. 
  • Partner with peers and internal stakeholders in developing strategic initiatives to drive operational excellence.
  • Enhance collaboration with internal and external departments developing design guidelines.

What it takes:

  • Successful completion of a Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution in a directly related field (e.g. Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma), or completion of a Red Seal Journeyman Trade in a related field (e.g. Power Line Technician Trade). 
  • 5 years related experience in powerline distribution and operations, including design, construction, maintenance, and operation of distribution powerline facilities.
  • A passion for developing quality solutions with a safety-focused mindset. 
  • A collaborative and inclusive approach to strengthening connections in the workplace.
  • A proven ability of safety regulations and safe work procedures within a hydroelectric utility.
  • Extensive knowledge of electric utility operations. 
  • Established knowledge of applicable regulations and standards impacting compliance of electric utility operations.
