We’re looking for a Transmission Asset Manager to lead the planning, maintenance, and life cycle performance of our natural gas pipeline systems. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll guide a team of engineers and technologists to make smart, data-informed decisions that improve reliability, safety, and efficiency across our infrastructure.
You’ll be responsible for developing long-term investment and maintenance strategies, ensuring our assets are performing at their best while aligning with business goals and regulatory expectations. Collaboration is key—you’ll work closely with teams across Transmission operations, engineering, System Integrity, finance, PMO, and regulatory affairs to build strong partnerships and deliver results.
Success in this role requires a strategic mindset and the ability to turn complex information into clear, actionable plans. You’ll bring strong leadership skills to motivate your team, foster cross-functional alignment, and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. Your communication skills will help you build consensus, present ideas to senior leadership, and gain support for long-term initiatives.
In year 1, you will:
- Develop a culture of accountability by establishing clear ownership of asset performance across teams.
- Develop and implement a Transmission Asset Management Plan aligned with business risk management and strategic asset management plan.
- Establish asset management framework to support data-driven decision-making and lifecycle optimization.
- Lead and mentor the engineering and technologist team, ensuring alignment with capital and maintenance planning processes.
- Deliver annual activity and budget plans for transmission assets, including capital and O&M work.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships with Transmission Operations, System Integrity, PMO, Engineering, Finance, and Regulatory teams.
In year 2, you will:
- Refine and optimize multi-year capital and maintenance plans, incorporating learnings from Year 1.
- Lead development of long-term rate filings and ensure alignment with financial and regulatory targets.
- Implement programs and projects, based on asset performance data and drive execution of high value investments to minimize risk to the organization.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process redesigns and business case development for new investments.
- Communicate asset performance, investment plans, and risk mitigation strategies to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Support Asset Management enhancement initiatives including the improvements of Computerized Maintenance Management System (e.g. SAP) and Capital Investment Planning Tools (e.g. Copperleaf).
What it takes:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited University.
- 8 to 12 years directly related experience.
- Experience in gas transmission operations, design, project management and asset management are an asset.
- Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists of BC.
