Position Overview

As our Talent Acquisition Associate, you’ll work with managers and other stakeholders throughout the recruitment cycle to seek out and identify great talent to fill available opportunities. Using your recruitment know-how, you’ll gain a deep understanding of your client group’s needs and work within a unionized environment to find the right talent with the right skillset, mindset and fit.
In this role, you will:
- Build strong working partnerships with designated business areas to support their recruiting needs.
- Conduct full-cycle recruitment for internal and external hiring including understanding requirements, building applicant pools, developing strategic sourcing strategies, shortlisting and evaluating candidates, guiding candidates and hiring managers through the recruitment journey, and negotiating offers.
- Identify the specific needs for these business areas and execute hiring practices to find the right talent.
- Coordinate, prepare and advertise job postings while taking your business partners along the journey.
- Seek to attract the right talent through recruitment systems and tools including job fairs, social media, and industry events.
- Develop pre-screening processes to short list talent by determining the selection criteria, testing and assessment requirements in accordance with company policies, collective agreement provisions and applicable government legislation.
- Lead interviews in partnership with our business stakeholders.
What it takes:
- A diploma or degree in human resources.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in Talent Acquisition.
- Experience in unionized recruitment and selection.
- Knowledge of employment legislation regulations and hiring practices within collective agreements.
- Experience with interpreting and applying collective agreement provisions related to job postings
- Working knowledge of recruitment technology, including Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and LinkedIn. Bonus points if familiar with SuccessFactors Recruiting.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multi-task while managing multiple tasks and projects.
- Excellent computer skills using MS Office Suite and HRIS.
- Passionate about talent acquisition and have a creative mindset while thriving in an dynamic and fast paced environment.
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
