As our Senior Project Manager, you will lead your team in the execution of our Renewable Natural Gas, facilities and pipeline projects. You will put your problem solving skills to work along with your passion to build collaborative partnerships to get the job done. Your knowledge of design, construction, permits and environmental regulations in the gas field makes you an incredible asset.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage overall safety of the project and ensure contractors and our own teams have site-specific safety and environmental management plans developed.
  • Establish goals, expectations and take corrective action needed to maintain and control project scope cost, schedule and quality.
  • Control costs and maintain monthly forecast.
  • Manage the development of a project specific execution and management plans.
  • Manage the risk management function along with the change management function and the allocation of contingency. 
  • Manage the performance of contractors and develop reporting systems and payment measuring systems.
  • Inform project director of major issues immediately concerning major safety/environment incidents or public/political issues.
  • Ensure that the terms and conditions of the contract are met.
  • Provide support to project team and keep the team informed of pertinent issues.
  • Manage project irregularities collectively with project team.
  • Control and monitor all RFP and RFQ in coordination with Project Director.
  • Negotiate any conflict price discrepancies with contractors.
  • Coordinate isolation and by-pass work with Operations, Gas Control, Capacity Planning, and our customers.

What it takes:

  • You have extensive hands-on knowledge of gas infrastructure project management and execution.
  • You have a degree in engineering plus a minimum of 10 years related project execution, controls  and contract management experience in a leadership capacity.
  • You have a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation (preferred)
  • You have strong organizational skills as demonstrated in your experience managing various projects and developing programs
  • You have the ability to build and nourish long-lasting relationships.
  • You have an influential leadership style and a love for developing others.
  • You are skilled in the art of interacting with people at all levels of the company as well as external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Comfortable at managing union and non-unionized recruitment. 
  • Ability to exercise professional judgement in the handling of confidential information.
  • Works effectively on your own or in a team environment.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite, Microsoft Projects/Primavera P6).

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
