Position Overview
The Senior Midstream Market Analyst is responsible for executing the Annual Contracting Plan by optimizing supply, transportation, and storage resources to meet firm load requirements. This role ensures reliable energy delivery through daily, monthly, and seasonal coordination with FEI and third-party pipelines. It plays a critical part in translating resource plans into actionable strategies while accurately capturing costs and operational data. By safeguarding financial outcomes and supply security, the position directly supports customer rates and the organization’s strategic objectives.
In this role, you will:
- Executed daily and seasonal supply plans by optimizing transportation and storage resources to ensure reliable energy delivery and cost efficiency.
- Led nominations and scheduling across FEI and multiple third-party pipelines, providing oversight and guidance to Market Analysts.
- Made independent, real-time supply/demand decisions during gas day and after-hours coverage based on market and operational analysis.
- Collaborated with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate processing of commercial deals and maintain financial integrity through precise invoicing and payments.
- Developed analytical models and provided strategic support for midstream operations, short-term trading, and broader Energy Supply initiatives.
What it takes:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in finance or business from a recognized program plus a minimum of 5 years of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience in a commercial energy environment would be an asset.
- Strong knowledge of the energy industry, commercial market operations, and financial principles.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and drive innovative solutions.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while working independently with accountability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships across teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a proven ability to improve processes through new ideas and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
