Position Overview

The role supports the development, preparation, and submission of Long-Term Gas and Electric Resource Plans that enable informed decision making for energy resource planning and regulatory decision making for Fortis BC by applying robust project management practices, delivering data-driven insights and leading engagement with Indigenous communities and interested parties as required.

In this role, you will:

  • Aligns planning, governance, execution, and reporting to strengthen IRP project delivery using a structured, value-driven approach supported by data-informed decision-making.
  • Establishes best-practice project management frameworks (scope, schedule, budget, quality) and maintains controls including RAID logs, action tracking, change control, and documentation.
  • Develops and manages integrated workplans, identifies critical paths, and coordinates dependencies across internal teams, consultants, and external partners to ensure timely delivery.
  • Leads structured engagement with internal and external parties, supports strategy development, manages expectations, resolves conflicts, and represents the organization in planning discussions.
  • Uses data analytics, dashboards, and metrics to inform planning, drive insights, monitor performance, manage risks, and continuously improve processes, transparency, and outcomes.

What it takes:

  • University degree in Business, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Public Relations, Marketing Communications or Policy with a minimum of three (3) or more years of project coordination/management experience
  • Acts as a representative for the Company at engagement events, advisory committees, and working groups.
  • Project Management professional designation or working towards a designation is an asset
  • Demonstrates strong written, verbal, presentation, and listening skills, along with effective teamwork and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Applies structured project management methodologies and best practices, with experience in governance, scope, scheduling, budgeting, and change control.
  • Creates and maintains clear, audit-ready project documentation and organized repositories to ensure traceability and version control.
  • Leverages data analysis to support planning decisions and defines/tracks KPIs to monitor performance and outcomes.
  • Uses project management and data visualization tools (e.g., MS Project, Teams, Power BI) to track progress, while fostering innovation and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
