Position Overview

Are you passionate about driving project success through strategic scheduling and governance? FortisBC is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to lead scheduling oversight across our Major Projects portfolio. In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure our integrated master schedules are aligned with our Governance Framework, Phase Gate Model, and Assurance Review standards—helping to keep some of our most impactful projects on track.

You’ll be at the forefront of developing scheduling standards, reporting templates, and data structures, while leveraging tools like EcoSys, Primavera P6, and Power BI to provide portfolio-level visibility. Your expertise will also support key governance activities, including readiness reviews and schedule health checks, giving decision-makers the insights they need to move forward with confidence.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development and governance of integrated project schedules across FortisBC’s Major Projects portfolio, ensuring alignment with our project lifecycle and governance standards.
  • Provide expert guidance to project teams on schedule planning, forecasting, and performance reporting using tools like Primavera P6, EcoSys, and Power BI.
  • Drive consistency and quality by developing scheduling standards, templates, and KPIs that support executive-level decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including engineering, construction, and finance—to ensure schedule data supports portfolio-wide visibility and reporting.
  • Mentor project schedulers and champion continuous improvement in scheduling practices across the organization.

What it takes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with relevant 3-5 years of experience in Project Controls with a strong emphasis on Scheduling in Major Capital Projects. EGBC, PMI (PMP), or AACE (PSP/CCP) certifications are considered assets.
  • Familiarity with AACE, PMI, and other industry scheduling standards and best practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 and scheduling integration with cost tools such as EcoSys.
  • Experience supporting Phase Gate and assurance processes in a utility or owner organization.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
