Position Overview

You have an eye for business continuity management, and you know how to leverage that with excellent communication. With your strategic tact and discretionary abilities, you’re someone who knows how to develop and ensure business continuity programs can meet internal business and regulatory compliance requirements.

Reporting to Manager, Emergency Management and Business Continuity Programs, you’ll coordinate the business continuity program. With your business acumen, you’ll build organizational goals and objectives at the corporate level in collaboration with and under the guidance of the broader management team.

As one of B.C.’s Top Employers, we’re looking for someone who can drive innovative change forward. If this sounds like you, join us in transforming B.C.’s energy future.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, maintain, and execute business continuity plans, processes, and exercises in accordance with internal and external compliance requirements.
  • Lead continuous research and evaluation of the business continuity program against international standards, developing our program to excellence.
  • Establish relationships and earn the trust of internal business leaders to ensure they are actively engaged in the continuity program.
  • Monitor changes to regulations, codes, and standards to provide advice and guidance to others.

What it takes:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from a recognized program or a combination of education and training.
  • Minimum three to five years of recent, related experience in business continuity.
  • Valid B.C. Driver’s License.
  • An appetite for growth, learning, and continuous improvement for the collective improvement of our business continuity program.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking to identify areas of opportunity and expansion, while assessing future research and evaluation priorities.
  • Proven ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver and facilitate meetings and research opportunities for future growth.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
