Position Overview

You’ve got the detail-oriented mindset, technical expertise, and strategic prowess to build robust information systems (IS) programs that align with business priorities. Communication and collaboration are central to how you effectively execute projects, and you never settle for good enough, using analytics and reporting to continually improve on the programs you create. We need someone like you to be our Patch Program Specialist.

In this role, you’ll actively manage, develop, and oversee a IS patch management program, which aims to align our patch management activities with current cybersecurity policies, IS release management strategies, and other IS performance standards for optimal service delivery.

In year 1, you will:

  • Begin developing the patch management program and formalize an exception process.
  • Building relationships with stakeholders and establish expectations and timelines.
  • Facilitate patch management meetings and establish a reporting process.

In year 2, you will:

  • Maintain the patch management program, drive monthly patching for all servers in the production landscape, and facilitate monthly patching exceptions.
  • Develop automated patching processes and increase visibility around patching status.
  • Merge patch management processes with existing Quality Assurance and release management processes.

What it takes:

  • A diploma or degree in computer science, information systems, or project management with four years of application and technical work experience and a proven background in ITIL 4 best practices.
  • Great project management skills for delivering effective patching schedules and manual patch cycles with a focus on effective delivery.
  • Excellent strategy and prioritization skills to create project plans and confident communications to coordinate with IS stakeholders using various productivity applications.
  • Exceptional analytical and reporting skills to support patching updates and overall effectiveness of the patch management program.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
