Position Overview

FortisBC is seeking a strategic and technically strong leader to oversee enterprise networking and systems both on‑premises and cloud environments. This role provides functional and technical leadership for connectivity, collaboration, and communication platforms, ensuring they are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with organizational goals. You will guide the long‑term roadmap for enterprise networking and systems, manage service operations and vendor contracts, and drive innovation that supports the organization’s evolving business strategy.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead strategies and capital projects to enhance reliability, mobility, and user experience across on-premises and cloud environments.
  •  Build organizational partnerships to align networking and systems initiatives with business needs, providing architectural guidance.
  • Manage vendors and service agreements, advocate for modern cloud-based solutions, and identify opportunities for technical and cybersecurity improvements.
  • Resolve complex challenges, mentor team members, and establish KPIs and SLAs to ensure high-quality, resilient services and guide long-term planning.

What it takes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • 7–10 years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure and end‑user technologies, including networking and systems, particularly within gas and electric utilities.
  • Understanding of security architectures, governance, and operations.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
