Position Overview

Are you passionate about shaping the future of energy in British Columbia? Join a dynamic team leading the development of long-term resource plans that drive sustainable, integrated gas and electric strategies across the province. As a key contributor, you’ll guide complex energy analysis, collaborate with internal and external stake and rightsholders, and influence regulatory and policy decisions that support a lower-carbon future.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development of FortisBC’s Integrated Resource Plans, shaping long-term strategies that align with regulatory requirements and sustainability goals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stake and rightsholders to analyze energy trends, forecast demand, and manage complex planning projects.
  • Influence strategic decisions through regulatory submissions, data-driven insights, and participation in provincial energy policy discussions.
  • Support integrated gas and electric planning initiatives that contribute to British Columbia’s transition to a lower-carbon future.

What it takes:

  • A university degree in Resource Planning, Economics, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Policy, or Business, with at least five years of related experience.
  • Proven expertise in energy planning, forecasting, and regulatory processes, experience with the BC Utilities Commission and CleanBC is a strong asset.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft applications, along with a solid understanding of integrated gas and electric systems in British Columbia.
  • A valid BC Driver’s License
  • PMP designation or progress toward certification is an asset.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
