Position Overview
You have a curious mind geared toward creating engaging and innovative training programs that resonate with learners. You’re an adult educator at heart, and your background and expertise in instructional design ensure you know how to partner with clients to design the right learning solutions for them. Your customer-centric approach is just what we need as our next Instructional Designer.
Joining our Operational Learning team, you’ll work with clients to identify their training needs and design, develop, and evaluate effective learning solutions — with a primary focus on eLearning content, while also supporting instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, and on-the-job training.

In this role, you will:
- Develop knowledge of our business, including our operations, regulations, services and strategic priorities.
- Establish collaborative relationships with Occupational Health & Safety and Operations clients and subject matter experts to support our Gas and Electric divisions.
- Execute training projects and deliverables based on operational priorities.
- Participate in department-driven training and process improvement initiatives.
What it takes:
- A diploma in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, or a related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution, plus three years of recent, related experience—or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and methodology, specifically ADDIE.
- Proficient computer skills including use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated advanced skills in eLearning design and development, with expert-level skills in Articulate 360.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with clients, subject matter experts, and peers.
- A passion for innovation and a forward-thinking, analytical approach to implementing progressive training solutions.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Experience creating ancontent related to occupational health and safety is considered an asset.
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
