Position Overview

To act as a strategic advisor and partner to client groups by delivering integrated HR and labour relations solutions that align with organizational goals, comply with legal and collective agreement frameworks, and foster a high-performance, engaged workforce.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide expert HR and labour relations advice to client groups.
  • Support strategic planning and organizational development initiatives.
  • Lead or support grievance investigations and resolutions.
  • Interpret and apply collective agreements, employment legislation, and company policies.
  • Contribute to the development of HR frameworks, policies, and best practices.
  • Provide strategic guidance on recruitment, development, performance, compensation, and attendance to ensure compliance with collective agreements, policies, and employment laws.
  • Support change management and employee engagement strategies.

  • Strategic Thinking: Aligns HR initiatives with business objectives; anticipates future needs.
  • Labour Relations Expertise: Deep understanding of collective agreements, grievance handling, and dispute resolution.
  • Change Leadership: Guides and supports organizational change and transformation initiatives.
  • Decision-Making: Applies sound judgment in complex and sensitive situations.
  • Communication: Communicates clearly and persuasively with all levels of the organization and union representatives.
  • Relationship Building: Builds trust and credibility with stakeholders and fosters collaborative partnerships.

Requirements

  • A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of HR advisory experience in a unionized environment.
  • CPHR designation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and labour relations practices.
  • Proven experience in conflict resolution, investigations, and negotiations.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and HRIS systems

Additional Information

Occasional travel throughout BC will be required.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
