- Assist in developing and executing government relations plans that help us reach our business, energy and climate goals.
- Educate stakeholders on the challenges and opportunities of energy decarbonization in our province, including educating on FortisBC’s role in B.C.’s clean energy economy.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop strategic priorities for climate action outreach and engagement while recommending the appropriate action.
- Lead the effective execution of policy-related climate outreach and engagement activities to drive value through rate base growth and revenues, and mitigate risk related to climate policy decisions.
- Engage with our executives, directors, senior managers, consultants and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication across business units.
- Promote balanced energy discussions on the future of energy for local governments, specifically in B.C.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure the corporate strategy and business planning reports, regulatory filings, and other requirements are met.
- Support relevant regulatory processes by assisting with preparing and submitting regulatory applications and responding to information requests.
- Ensure compliance with Federal and Provincial lobbying disclosure requirements.
What it takes:

- In-depth knowledge of the Governments of Canada and B.C., the interplay between levels of government and key stakeholder groups, and familiarity with topical political issues in B.C.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident communications skills complemented by exceptional analytical and research abilities.
Additional Information
