Position Overview

Street Team represent the Company at community events/special events in communities throughout BC.

Responsibilities

  • Attend events to represent FortisBC and promote Company programs.
  • Educate customers and/or the public about energy conservation, rebate programs, safety and company initiatives which support the Company providing energy solutions to help meet BC’s climate goals.
  • Safe set up of tent, displays, booths and collateral.
  • Answer any general inquiries or refer to appropriate internal contacts for answers.
  • Complete event reports/summaries.
  • Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties which do not affect the rating of the job.

Requirements

  • Education:  Successful completion of Grade 12 High School
  • Experience:  Minimum of 3 months experience in customer service or recent and related experience with promotional work
  • Ability to show initiative and be a self-starter
  • Possess an outgoing, personable and positive attitude
  • Possess strong oral, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage, interact, and comfortably speak in public
  • Ability to be collaborative and a team player
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of a second language is considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of computer systems operations, environment and peripherals and various applications software in use in the department (SAP & suite of MS Office products)
  • Possess a valid BC Driver’s License with no restrictions
  • Ability to travel within FortisBC service territory as required
  • Must be able to lift, carry and assemble items and displays weighing up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
