Position Overview
The assignment will provide opportunities for engagement with engineers, managers and others in different departments in the organization, and provide an understanding of some of the workings within the operating and engineering groups at FortisBC.
In this role, you will:
The work will consist of various project related assignments to the design and operation of the gas system, such as:
- Designing of natural gas facilities and pipelines including stress analysis and equipment sizing and selection.
- Engaging with various internal and external stakeholders and team members in completion of capital projects.
- Performing engineering assessments, identifying opportunities and deficiencies, and completing written reports/proposals for existing and proposed infrastructure.
- Researching and developing design standards.
- Recommending process improvements and ensuring compliance to company and industry codes and standards.
What it takes:
- Bachelor of Engineering Student - Third or Fourth year preferred.
- Enrolled in a Co-op program.
- Valid driver’s license.
Other Qualifications
- Experience or knowledge with CAD applications and competence in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience with report and memo writing in a corporate environment
- Experience with interpreting mechanical and P&ID drawings of piping systems
- Competent public speaker

- This is a full-time temporary student co-op opportunity with an 8-month term starting in May 2025.
