Position Overview
You’re a highly organized communications professional who’s passionate about mastering digital content marketing strategies. Your keen problem-solving skills enable you to spot and seize opportunities for improving content marketing strategies and elevate our digital presence. With your confident interpersonal abilities, you inspire and collaborate with others in crafting digital campaigns that truly make an impact.
In this role, you will assist in managing our social media channels, work closely with subject matter experts, and stay ahead of the curve by researching the latest content marketing trends and best practices. You will play a key role in the administration of digital content, encompassing email campaigns, blog posts, and social media strategies that engage and inform.
In this role, you will:
- Work hand-in-hand with the Digital Content Manager to craft dynamic content strategies that help raise awareness about energy savings and rebates and offers programs. This includes identifying opportunities for long and short-form content creation across various mediums like video, social media, and email to maximize engagement and impact.
- Provide social media strategies, manage inquiries related to our conservation and energy management programs, and respond on behalf of FortisBC. Drive high public engagement through compelling content strategies that aligns with strategic objectives.
- Support website content strategy for fortisbc.com by overseeing the ideation, development and execution of engaging and timely blogs. Collaborate closely with a team of writer, designers, insights and coordinators to ensure priority alignment and resource allocation.
- Ensure digital projects are completed from conception to launch, helping to identify potential issues and providing solutions, while reporting on successes.
- Stay current with the latest digital marketing trends and best practices, ensuring content strategies and user experience are optimizes for email, social media and the web.
What it takes:
- A diploma in marketing, communications, or related discipline plus three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Digital Expertise: Proven track record in creating and executing impactful digital campaigns with tangible results across multiple platforms including websites, email, and social media. Understanding of the social media landscape and experience in facilitating short-form content, particularly reels and short videos.
- Execution Skills: Strong ability to prioritize tasks, juggle multiple deadlines, and execute on time.
- Collaborative Mindset: Thrives in cross-functional roles, adept at liaising with external vendors, and demonstrating a proactive approach and outstanding teamwork.
- Organized: Skilled in managing multiple campaigns simultaneously, all while keeping a keen eye on achieving quarterly and yearly content objectives.
- Creativity: Understanding of various content formats, such as video, blogs, articles, newsletters, and social media.
- Technical Proficiency: Intermediate skills with MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and social media tools such as Sprout Social and Meltwater.
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
