Position Overview
You enjoy working collaboratively with cross functional groups and have attention to detail for project development and delivery. You can identify potential in the latest programs on the market to move your projects and department forward. Better yet, you know how to realize your vision and can establish detailed and intentional project plans while remaining agile to ensure your initiatives go off without a hitch. With your passion for sustainability and energy efficiency, you'd be a great fit as our Conservation and Energy Management (C&EM) Project Specialist.
You know how to build solid project plans, highlighting the opportunity and feasibility of project delivery to provide grounding to the solutions you identify. When taking on projects, you're proactive approaches help you get ahead of potential challenges as you tackle situations head-on with creative solutions to ensure they stay on track.
In this role, you will:
- Assist in the development of the electric and gas regulatory applications and reporting which includes the DSM expenditures plans and annual reporting.
- Prioritize the DSM planning development cycle and effectively execute initiatives to support portfolio activities.
- Develop rapport and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including our procurement and legal teams, other utilities, industry associations and advisory groups.
- Expand your knowledge and understanding of the latest in Demand Side Management (DSM) measures and program offerings , the characteristics of our customer base and our strategic vision.
- Identify, prioritize and advance DSM measures and new innovative technology solutions that have a significant opportunity to reduce natural gas or electric consumption or peak mitigation, and support their develop with program teams.
- Work with various departments to execute project deliverables that may include requests for expenditure budgets, or measure development support, regulatory assistance or privacy and audit requirements.
- Target inefficiencies to improve the execution of current and future projects.
What it takes:
- A diploma in a related discipline, such as business, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience working with projects or project development.
- A Project Management Professional or Certified Energy Manager designation is considered an asset.
- Previous experience with delivering and communicating DSM programs and experience working in a regulated utility would be an asset.
- A proven track record in designing and delivering successful multi-stakeholder projects on time, budget and within scope.
- Exceptional organizational, technical and analytical skills to support with measurement and verification activities and reporting.
- A demonstrated ability to manage a team and to work independently to successfully execute projects.
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
