We're actively seeking new talent to join our mission of transforming B.C.'s energy landscape. As one of BC's Top Employers with a diverse team of over 2,600 employees, we are committed to a safe and inclusive culture where each of us can connect, belong, and grow. Join us, and together, let's shape a brighter future for B.C.

Position Overview

You're a strategic mastermind who can balance the needs of stakeholders, such as customers, agencies and regulators,  with a high degree of professionalism. That's because you know how to tailor customer-centric programs and can build effective, collaborative relationships that feed into evergreen programs. Now, what if we told you the programs also support some of our most vulnerable customers while also advancing GHG reduction targets?

This may be the perfect opportunity for you as our Conservation and Energy Management department is looking to hire a Program Manager, Conservation Assistance. You would be part of the multi-talented backbone of Conservation and Energy Management that oversees the long-term strategic direction and day-to-day operations of our team. We need you to take a proactive approach in streamlining processes and engaging stakeholders to ensure our programs continue to push the needle on sustainable energy practices and are easy for our customers to engage with.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee and provide strategic direction and vision for all programs that serve our low-income customers and social housing providers including marketing, contract and legal matters, risk and safety assessments, program development, operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Build, train and support a Conservation Assistance team within our Program Development department and oversee competitive bidding processes for external supporting contractors.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

What it takes:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline from a recognized program, plus a minimum of five years of recent, related experience with demonstrated success.
  • A proven track record of building relationships in complex work environments.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skillset.
  • An ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with complex processes.
  • A ‘get it done right’ and ‘can do’ perspective that fosters strengthened relationships through every engagement.
  • Previous experience with delivering and communicating Demand Side Management programs and working in a regulated utility would be an asset.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
