Position Overview
The duties of a 3rd Class Operator are day to day monitoring, inspection, adjustment and cleaning of Power Plants, Sub and Switching Stations, and associated equipment. This position is entrance level for training toward the position of 1st Class Operator.
A 3rd Class Operator reports to a staff supervisor or delegate.
Responsibilities
- Maintain good housekeeping in the Company’s Power Plants and Associated Sub and Switching Stations.
- Perform routine operating maintenance and inspection of Generating Units, Sub and Switching Station equipment and associated auxiliary apparatus and reporting abnormalities to the appropriate supervisor(s).
- Assist tradesmen and other higher classification employees in performing maintenance of Generating Plant, Sub and Switching Station equipment.
- Perform duties that are normally carried out by a lower classification employee.
- Trash rack cleaning.
Requirements
High school graduation in academic/industrial program with course electives in mathematics and electricity.
