  • Shall prepare and paint any gas distribution piping, equipment or buildings using brush, roller or spray equipment and to specification provided. 
  • Shall operate and use sand and glassbead high pressure blasting equipment. 
  • Drive company vehicles as required 


  • Demonstrated safe work habits and adherence to safety regulations and practices on a sustained basis; must have safe driving record and be able to pass Company driving tests.
  • Ability to absorb, follow and retain instructions relating to function.
  • Good knowledge of basic paint types and application techniques.  Ability to use air type and airless spray equipment as well as conventional brush and roller.
  • Specific knowledge of mastics, red lead, zinc chromate and enamel.
  • Sufficient mechanical aptitude to maintain painting equipment.
  • Proficient in interpreting work orders, mechanical drawings, sketches and written instructions and record work done.
  • Initiative and sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high level and quality of performance.
