Technical Analyst Work Leader

Responsibilities

  • Holds work leadership responsibility for the Technical Analysts and Co-op positions. 
  • May perform duties largely similar to those whose work s/he directs.
  • May perform duties related to, but at a higher level than the work of the subordinates whom they direct.
  • Provides leadership and coaching to the Technical Analysts and Co-op positions in order to develop and maintain strong customer service, project and time management skills and ensure even workflow and consistency of effort. This includes:
    • oversee the process of work performed along with any other support services as assigned.
    • assisting in the development of staff to ensure a focus on customer service standards is established.
    • ensuring problems and inefficiencies are recognized and resolved through discussion, feedback and follow-up.
    • performing a quality control function with respect to Technical Analysts and Co-op positions and,
    • primary contact for any customer and service desk escalations as required by the team, focusing on maintaining excellent customer service.
    • warning subordinates of unacceptable behaviour (quality and/or quantity of work) or conduct (observance of hours, appearance, etc.).
  • Implements and ensures compliance with approved work procedures.
  • Contributes to the preparation of and delivers training sessions/workshops, as required.
  • Collects, analyses and reports on various statistics within the Incident Management System.
  • Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties which do not affect of the job.

Requirements

  • 2 year Diploma in Computer or Electronics Technology, Computer Science or related field. 
  • 8 to 10 years’ experience related work experience. 
  • Advanced knowledge of end-user computing, data center, server and virtualization, data storage and backup, networking, telecommunications, collaboration environments, cloud technology and architect, cyber security and peripherals. 
  • Superior interpersonal and customer service skills. 
  • Superior written and oral communications and presentation skills. 
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including the ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment. 
  • Competence in the execution of large projects. 
  • Ability to analyze problems. 
  • Leadership and management skills. 
  • Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver’s license.
