Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operational Readiness professional to oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive readiness plan and handover strategy, ensuring the successful transition from project execution to operations of the new Eagle Mountain Gas Pipeline (EGP) project.
As the Senior Operational Readiness Engineer, you will ensure a seamless transition from project completion to safe, efficient, and sustainable operations. This is a unique opportunity to shape the long-term success of a major infrastructure project by aligning systems, processes, and people for operational excellence.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and execute the Operational Readiness Plan for the EGP project
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth transition from construction to operations phase
- Ensure compliance with applicable internal and external codes and standards
- Identify and mitigate operational risks through readiness reviews and gap analyses
- Implement procedures, training, and management of change plans for long-term success
- Support commissioning, start-up, and system performance testing
- Ensure regulatory, safety, and environmental compliance
- Support training of operations and maintenance staff to ensure competency and preparedness
- Track and report on readiness metrics, milestones, issues and capture lessons learned
What it takes:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Process or related field) or equivalent from a recognized accredited post-secondary academic institution
- Must hold a valid P.Eng. designation
- 10 years of relevant operations and/or commissioning experience
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle, asset management, and operational excellence principles
- Gas transmission pipeline and facility (compressor station, large customers stations and odorant, tunnel construction) commissioning, and startup experience preferred
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
