Position Overview
Reporting to the Supervisor, Property Services, this position is responsible for the acquisition of land rights to support new and existing FortisBC distribution, transmission and generation infrastructure as well as maintaining existing tenures.
Responsibilities
- Represent FortisBC’s Property Services department facing internal and external customers;
- Facilitate and act as the primary contact for the land acquisition component of the new connects process as assigned;
- Manage the lands acquisition component of capital plan projects as assigned;
- Provide guidance and oversight thereof on Property Services related policies and processes to various stakeholders;
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including legal and/or Crown representatives;
- Provide support and guidance to a variety of stakeholders to improve project outcomes;
- Identify opportunities to optimize Property Services process and procedures;
- Support and foster a positive and collaborative work environment while upholding key corporate policies and processes; and
- Relieve Supervisor, Property Services as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or Real Estate from a recognized program plus 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

- Demonstrated customer service and dispute resolution experience
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of valuation techniques, particularly as they relate to real estate
- Knowledge of SRW agreements, survey plans and other real estate related documentation
- Knowledge of BC laws and regulations related to real estate
- Solid computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
