Position Overview

You've got a keen eye for detail and analytical skills in financial analysis that allow you to be a key contributor to our month-end close process and ensure financial results are completed timely and accurately. Coupled with your strong interpersonal communications, you effectively engage stakeholders and incorporate their feedback to enhance ongoing analysis. 

 

As a financial accounting analyst, you’ll ensure accurate financial results through a broad and deep understanding of the chain of our financial data processes and controls. Reporting to the financial accounting management team, this position focuses on analysis of various types of financial data, in addition to analyzing current internal processes.

In this role, you will:

  • Be a major contributor to the department’s   key deliverable of achieving a timely and accurate monthly close process and providing financial results to our stakeholders. 
  • Conduct various monthly financial analyses by gaining an understanding of the nature of our operations. 
  • Work with accounting subject matters such as accounts receivable, revenue, deferrals, and capital assets. 
  • Work within a team to identify areas for process improvements while ensuring the needs of all stakeholders are met . 
  • Implement process improvements and play a key role in designing the internal systems developed by you and your team to streamline workflow. 

What it takes:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or a related discipline from an accredited university, plus completion of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) program and three years of recent and relevant experience. 
  • Strong organizational skills and time management to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail to engage with internal and external stakeholders as you provide meaningful financial analyses.
