This position blends field and office work, offering hands-on involvement in emergency repairs, integrity digs, pipeline maintenance, and operational planning. Acting as an Engineer of Record for assigned activities, you’ll help ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and regulations. In this role, you will:

- Coordinate pipeline operational activities with planned outages and maintenance windows, working closely with internal stakeholders such as Gas Control, System Capacity Planning, System Integrity, Asset Management etc.
- Monitor operational and maintenance activities to identify pipeline risks related to third-party damage or natural hazards and collaborate on mitigation strategies.
- Support inline inspection and pipeline pigging programs, including planning, coordination, and technical review.
- Track and maintain operational calculations and data, including activities related to gas movement and GHG emissions.
- Provide engineering support to pipeline permitting and protection group to address time-sensitive permit application, impacting high-pressure pipelines.
- Provide operational input for incorporation into pre-FEED, FEED, detailed engineering, construction and asbuilt stages of new pipeline projects and upgrades to existing pipeline systems as part of major and sustainment capital projects.
What it takes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited post-secondary academic institution with a minimum of 4-7 years related experience.
- Currently registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC).
- Experience working within a regulated utility working environment, preferably in the natural gas transmission and distribution utility systems.
- Operational field experience would be considered asset.
