Position Overview

You’re a skilled individual with in-depth facility and operations knowledge and expertise. Combined with your meticulous planning skills, your overall understanding of this field allows you to utilize your experience to schedule work effectively and implement practices that positively impact our projects and initiatives. 


As our Operations Engineer, you’ll support our efforts to maintain regulatory compliance, reduce system risk and support the ACGS operations team. You’ll also guide and provide support debottlenecking and modernizing the Aitken Creek facility through a variety of MOC projects.

In your first year with us, you’ll:

  • Familiarize yourself with the role through extensive training ranging from three months to one year.
  • Participate in and actively contribute to asset integrity program sustainment and regulatory compliance within the first six months of employment.
  • Demonstrate progressive knowledge gained in facility operations, project execution, and regulatory compliance. 

In your second year with us, you’ll:

  • Perform and complete all functional requirements, including planning and scheduling long-range work plans.
  • Develop plans for future operational changes resulting in system changes. Examples include our major projects such as LNG Canada market,  Management Capacity projects, Fortis 30x30 improvements, Net Zero 2050 improvements, hydrogen injection and more.
  • Lead ongoing operations management initiatives to comply with evolving regulations in all aspects of the business. 

What it takes:

  • A Professional Engineer designation is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized program with four to eight years of related experience.
  • Exceptional knowledge in oil and gas operating systems, such as pigging, compressor station operations, gas and oil processes, pipeline construction, and maintenance work.
  • An effective team player and collaborator who works well with various stakeholders.
  • A deadline-driven individual with a solid analytic mindset and the ability to multi-task.
