Position Overview

Reporting to the Manager, LNG Operations, you will be a key member of our LNG Operations team where you will oversee safe and efficient LNG loading and transportation at the Tilbury facility. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to meet operational goals while ensuring full regulatory and safety compliance. You will lead a great team of unionized employees through operational practices that follow existing policies and procedures, This position also provides coverage for the Operations Manager as needed, offering valuable leadership exposure.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead day-to-day LNG loading and transportation activities, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient execution aligned with environmental and process safety standards.
  • Interface with Operations, Maintenance, Asset Management, and Low Carbon Transportation teams to support troubleshooting, work order initiation, and maintenance planning.
  • Ensure adherence to OH&S, BCER, TSBC, WorkSafeBC, and Transport Canada regulations. Facilitate JHSC meetings and drive closure of safety action items.
  • Manage unionized staff scheduling, training, performance, and recruitment. Develop SOPs and training manuals to support operational excellence.

What it takes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (EGBC-eligible), or valid Fourth-Class Power Engineer certification (or higher), or equivalent technical/trade credential with 5–8 years of relevant experience in process plant operations, ideally in LNG, Oil & Gas, or Petrochemical sectors.
  • Supervisory experience in a unionized environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of OH&S, Process Safety, and regulatory standards (WorkSafeBC, BCER, TSBC).
  • Proven leadership in operations, team management, and cross-department collaboration.
  • Hands-on experience with plant startup/shutdown, emergency response, and maintenance planning.
  • Familiarity with PSM principles (PHA, MOC, Asset Integrity, incident investigations) and safety systems (Permit to Work, LOTO, JHA).
