Maintenance Planning Engineer

Position Overview

You’re a passionate advocate for safety and understand how to plan maintenance work effectively to ensure the reliable operation of large natural gas facilities. Your top-notch strategic thinking skills help you to identify and prioritize risks as you build out maintenance strategies, and you’re always analyzing processes and to find opportunities to streamline your work. We want someone like you to join as our Maintenance Planning Engineer.  


In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the safe and reliable operations of our Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facilities.   

In year 1, you will:

  • Gain familiarity with our LNG plants and build experience supporting day-to-day operations and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Understand the current state of maintenance and reliability, including preventative maintenance and spare part structures in systems, applications and products (SAP).
  • Collaborate with the LNG team and other departments, including Inventory, Procurement, and Information Systems, to expand the maintenance program.

In year 2, you will:

  • Use RCMCost to develop maintenance plans and spare parts strategies for new equipment.
  • Contribute to the annual maintenance planning process by identifying and justifying maintenance activities for the following year.
  • Develop proposals for capital projects to keep the plant reliable and aligned with current business objectives.

What it takes:

  • A Professional Engineer certification along with a minimum of five years of related and recent experience.
  • High proficiency in troubleshooting rotating and mechanical equipment and conducting root cause analysis. 
  • Demonstrated experience with reliability tools, such as RCM, FMEA, and RBD’s, and actioning risk-based decision making.
  • Previous experience with SAP or another computerized maintenance management system.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and collaboration skills to plan maintenance strategies and partner with departments on larger capital projects.
