Position Overview

You’re someone who knows how to lead people safely and reliably with an eye toward long-term success. With your natural leadership and communication skills, you’ll provide technical guidance to the Logistics and Warehouse Operations teams in support of Gas and Electric operations. 

 

As Logistics Manager, you’ll be responsible for implementing and managing logistics and warehousing capabilities efficiently, providing oversight and direction on the overall planning and management required to support logistics and warehouse operations. You’ll identify and implement the enhancement and execution of departmental systems and ensure compliance with internal and external safety and operational standards.

In this role, you will:

  • Set a leading example of how to champion our safety culture to safeguard against accidents and injuries. 
  • Establish a collaborative, inclusive work environment and build strong relationships with multiple business units, including Operations, Project Management Office, and Production Management teams.
  • Gain familiarity with and provide leadership in support of key departmental projects and initiatives impacting logistics and inventory processes.  
  • Oversee the development and implementation of departmental systems and key projects and initiatives impacting logistics and inventory processes.  
  • Identify solutions to improve efficiencies in forecasting, budgeting, planning and organizing for Warehouse and Logistics teams.

What it takes:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, or a related discipline from a recognized program.
  • A minimum of 10 to 12 years of experience, including time spent in a leadership position in a unionized environment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 
  • A certification from the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP), or an equivalent designation is considered an asset.  
  • A demonstrated history of working in warehouse, logistics, and manufacturing environments with a proven track record of building relationships in a complex work environment.
  • Advanced leadership skills to empower and lead the people around you, develop your teams, and build a safe, collaborative, and respectful work environment. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including all customers, suppliers, and operations. 
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and SAP.
