Responsibilities
- Manage inventory levels by:
- Setting appropriate inventory levels for the cycles throughout the year
- Tracking turn rates
- Supporting physical inventory audits and cycle counts
- Co-ordination for multi-faceted manufacturing projects by:
- Liaising with Procurement, Distribution, Transmission, Shops, Warehouse, Engineering, Project Management Office, Vendors and other stakeholders to facilitate appropriate communications
- Coordinating costing requirements with Finance
- Reporting
- Assist with the development of appropriate SAP reporting tools. Maintain SAP database for inventory management & recall of Tools and Equipment
- Facilitate the disposition or redeployment of surplus and obsolete material
- Maintain Material Master descriptions and Approved Products Catalogue
- Liaise with other departments to field questions pertaining to inventory
- Support financial reporting with respect to inventory by:
- Preparing quarterly inventory working papers (i.e cycle counts)
- Reconciling Work-in-Progress accounts
- Reviewing gain/loss entries
- Support identification of obsolete inventory and reconciling to Provision for Loss account
- Maintaining inventory controls to ensure compliance to regulatory body requirements
- Maintain log of non-conformances (i.e. product failures) and liaise with other work groups and Engineering to ensure corrective actions are assigned and implemented.
- Maintain records of material test reports and/or certificates and/or heat numbers.
- Provide support for:
- Audits
- Auto PO function
- APCG
- Sourcing alternate goods and/or samples
- Develop demand forecasts for inventory goods
- May provide direction to the Inventory Analyst 1.
- Perform duties of a minor nature related to the above duties which do not affect the rating of the job.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of the Supply Management Training Program or equivalent (e.g. SCMA)
- Minimum 3 years direct work experience in Material Management or equivalent
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel for the purpose of word processing, project tracking, presentations, spreadsheets and analysis
- Demonstrated ability to utilize SAP and develop a sound working knowledge of MM and FI modules
- Demonstrated understanding of investment recovery practices and approaches
- Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues/problems
- Sound oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate in a professional manner with a variety of individuals at all levels internally and outside the organization
- Demonstrated ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), focus attention on details, follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules
- Demonstrated organizational skills including ability to multi-task and work under pressure during peak workload periods to meet tight deadlines
- Must be tactful, discrete and respectful of confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction
- Must maintain a valid British Columbia Driver’s License

- This position is headquartered in Burnaby, BC.
- The incumbent may be required to carry a company-provided cell phone and may occasionally be required to respond outside of regular work hours.
