Join us, and together, let's shape a brighter future for B.C.

Position Overview

You’re a sharp analytical thinker with a knack for leveraging reporting software tools. Along with your familiarity with utility and demand-side management (DSM) principles, you’re a numbers whiz who excels in budget forecasting and report writing.

As DSM Portfolio Performance Analyst, you’ll bring your love of numbers and spreadsheets to measure and report on DSM programs and portfolios like monthly reporting, annual reports, measuring library updates, and cost-effectiveness testing. With your strong attention to detail, you’ll communicate performance indicators and reports to stakeholders, including the executive leadership team.

As one of BC’s Top Employers, we’re looking for someone who knows how to utilize their analytical mindset to lead projects to success. If this sounds like you, join us in transforming B.C.’s energy future.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the preparation of the annual report for regulatory British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) submission.
  • Advise managers and other staff on proper methodologies, interpretation of energy efficiency regulations, and the latest industry best practices in conducting cost-effectiveness analysis.
  • Identify system and process improvements to enable productivity, and reduce time spent on DSM reporting.
  • Work closely with the Conservation and Energy Management function within the gas utility by preparing progress and forecast reports on budget, energy savings, cost effectiveness and other data.

What it takes:

  • A degree or diploma in business administration, energy management, environmental management, or resource planning, with at least three years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of the B.C. Utilities Commission Act, BC Demand-side Measures Regulation and other provincial and federal policies that affect utility demand side management activities.
  • Advanced skills in Excel-based spreadsheets, analytical modeling, and reporting software tools such as PowerBI, Relational database architecture, and Dynamic 365.
  • Proven experience working with SQL Server databases and analysis tools is considered an asset.
  • Excellent analytical skills for conducting budget and forecasting analyses and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to effectively analyze information and create reports.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
