Position Overview

You’re an exceptional leader with the ability to develop people and build successful programs from the ground up. With your business acumen and strategic tact, you’re someone who knows that communication and collaboration are necessary to lead successful projects to completion.  

 

Reporting to Senior Project Manager, Renewable Gas, as Program Manager, Renewable Gas, you’ll lead a team of professionals and oversee the renewable natural gas (RNG) portfolio to ensure projects are executed in alignment with RNG business needs. Relying on your interpersonal and project management skills, you’ll negotiate with different business units to balance priorities and accomplish strategic objectives.

In this role, you will:

  • Familiarize yourself with the project phase-gate process.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the RNG business, both technical and commercial.
  • Build and develop genuine and strong partnerships with internal stakeholders.
  • Guide and lead the implementation of the RNG project portfolio.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine the phase-gate process. 

What it takes:

  • A degree in engineering or a related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • A minimum of four years of related experience, including prior experience working in a regulated utility environment. 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset. 
  • Excellent business and negotiation skills to engage with several internal stakeholder groups, leading to successful outcomes. 
  • Proven project management experience to ensure consistency and maintain documentation as projects develop.
  • Exceptional strategic and analytical skills to develop business cases, and assess the impact of choices on the business case as it grows. 
  • Expert multitasking abilities to balance several ongoing projects and ensure each is provided with the same level of attention, detail, and focus. 

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
