In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the operations of the 24-hour security contact line, access control, intrusion detection, and closed-circuit television systems across the organization. You’ll also support other corporate security business functions, including tracking key performance indicators, cross-departmental collaboration, agency liaison, intelligence reports, and special assignments as required.

In year 1, you will:

  • Reconfigure the security operations centre to improve overall security operations, including video management, alarm response, patrols, and access control.
  • Create a revised set of security post orders to reflect improved standard operating procedures.
  • Establish formal relationships with law enforcement, government agencies, and internal/external stakeholders to collect, analyze, and share intelligence as required.

In year 2, you will:

  • Participate in the production of intelligence reports and other ad-hoc special assignments as required.
  • Devise actionable strategies to minimize security spending in the security operations centre.
  • Identify and prioritize recommendations for improvements for facilities and asset protection.

What it takes:

  • A Bachelors diploma or degree in a related and relevant discipline from a recognized program plus 2 to 3 years recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience in a security operations centre environment is preferred along with a valid B.C. Security Worker Licence.
  • High-level knowledge and experience of the tools of a security operations centre environment to troubleshoot issues, continually improve processes, techniques, and procedures, and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and diplomacy skills to liaise with other business units across the organization, provide briefings to leadership, and interact with our external agency partners regularly.
  • Great interpersonal and collaboration skills to develop strong partnerships that lead to higher-quality information sharing and improved situational awareness overall to benefit the safety and security of the Company.
  • Exceptional strategic and analytical skills to interpret information quickly and identify threats to the organization, and apply this to our operating environment.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
