Position Overview

The assignment will provide opportunities for engagement with engineers, managers and others in different departments in the organization, and provide an understanding of some of the workings within the operating and engineering groups at FortisBC.

In this role, you will:

The work will consist of assisting in various assignments related to geotechnical-related and the pipeline in-line inspection (ILI) data analysis tasks, such as:

  • Executing geotechnical and hydrotechnical hazard management program involving site visits, site inspection coordination with multiple stakeholders, inspection report and blast request review, record management, etc.
  • Validating ILI related data, performing data analyses on various ILI data sets, and developing data analysis procedures.
  • Providing support for other pipeline integrity management activities and assessments, as required.

What it takes:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Student (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Geological) - Third or Fourth year preferred.
  • Enrolled in a Co-op program.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Other Qualifications

  • Experience or knowledge with Excel Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), statistical analysis and/or data management tools would be an asset.
  • Experience with report and memo writing in a corporate environment.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
