Employee Wellness & Accommodation Advisor

Position Overview

At FortisBC, we’re committed to fostering a work environment that supports our more than 2,400 employee’s health and safety. As the Employee Wellness and Accommodation Advisor, you’ll be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring our company-wide well-being initiatives and accommodation programs.
 

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Develop our health and wellness programs and provide our FortisBC Family with the right tools for them to adapt and maintain a well-rounded healthy lifestyle.
  • Improve the overall health and wellness of our employees, identify risks, increase morale and retention and decrease absenteeism.
  • Collaborate with others to coordinate workplace accommodation, based on human rights legislation.
     
In year 1, you will:

 

  • Develop our health and wellness program plan, with incremental milestones and targets for first four quarters and annual review.
  • Enhance our existing work accommodation program and help us update our policy, templates and job aids. 
What it takes:

 

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources Management or Health Sciences from a recognized program and five to seven years of recent and related  experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience 
  • Disability Management Professional (CDMP) or Return to Work Coordinator (CRWC) certification an asset
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
  • Knowledge and/or understanding of Human Rights legislation and relevant Case Law related to Work Accommodations
  • Knowledge and/or understanding of disability management procedures
  • Computer skills – knowledge of SAP and advanced knowledge of Excel
