Position Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Total Rewards, this position provides administrative support to the Employee Services department and participates in the effective coordination and delivery of regular and ad hoc tasks, communications, and initiatives.

In this role, you will:

  • Act on behalf of the Employee Services department, providing general administrative support to Payroll, Benefits, and Pension teams.
  • Screen and distribute incoming email, forms, mail, and phone calls to ensure all matters are organized and completed professionally and efficiently.
  • Perform administrative duties related to United Way and Warm Hearts campaigns, as well as annual benefit and quarterly employee share purchase plan enrollments.
  • Provide support with year-end priorities, including calendar and communication updates, reminders, and follow-ups.
  • Prepare employment verification letters, respond to general email inquiries, and complete tasks related to onboarding and offboarding of employees.
  • Handle other ad hoc duties as required 

What it takes:

  • A Human Resources Certificate or Business Diploma from a recognized program plus two years recent benefits or HR-related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and be flexible to meet operational demands.
  • General Human Resources knowledge on policies and procedures. Payroll, benefits, and pension experience is an asset.
  • Strong computer software skills, including MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint. SAP and SharePoint experience is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment, tact, and discretion in preparing, disclosing, and handling information of a confidential and/or sensitive nature.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact in a professional, clear, and courteous manner to represent the interests of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
