Position Overview

You have the eye of an investigator and can comb through billing our collections processes to identify clues that may suggest something is afoot! You leverage the strong relationships you build with your partners, internal or external, to get to the bottom of any investigation and can implement your findings to safeguard processes from similar snags in the future. We need your special skillset for our Revenue Protection Manager role.


In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring we’re receiving appropriate revenues by identifying and applying corrective action to revenue loss issues, including theft, billing issues and other possible sources while leading billing and collections analysis procedures as required. 


While you dig deep into the details, you know how to demonstrate to your team what it takes to build fruitful customer relationships and customer experiences that leave positive impressions. In this role, you will:

  • Oversee responses to requests by field investigators or law enforcement agencies on consumption and customer information in a timely, confidential manner.
  • Ensure investigative and supporting technical resources are scheduled and proper procedures are followed.
  • Participate in selecting and orientating new employees and coaching employees to support their performance, quality of work and development.

In year 1, you will:

  • Learn about the revenue protection department team and activities for our Gas and Electric operations.
  • Focus on collaboration within customer service.
  • Become familiar with our annual joint use billing activities.

In year 2, you will:

  • Look for innovative solutions for revenue protection activities.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders in other departments.

What it takes:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from a recognized program, plus four to seven years of relevant work experience in data analysis, customer service, regulatory or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Knowledge of billing and collections, Personal Information Protections Act, and tariffs for both Gas and Electric.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
  • A strong ability to build effective working relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders to balance the perspective of company and customers.
  • An ability to provide leadership to field staff and facilitate a customer-centric approach.
